Metson Lake was named for William H. Metson, a park commissioner at the time of the 1906 earthquake. It is man made and boasts a small waterfall and stream that flows into the lake. Located on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive near 28th Avenue.
Nasturtiums are abundant and can be found in many areas of Golden Gate Park. The patch pictured below left, is located across Middle Drive from Metson Lake, above the Polo Field. The image on the right shows the walking path that surrounds the lake.
